Teesside GasPort (TGP) is the world’s first dockside LNG vaporization
and natural gas receiving facility located near Middlesbrough, UK. Placed in service in February 2007,
TGP delivers natural gas into the UK’s National Transmission
System (NTS) and provides access to National Balancing Point (NBP) markets. TGP incorporates a jetty-mounted articulated gas offloading arm (HP gas arm) and utilizes Excelerate Energy’s proprietary Energy Bridge technology.
TGP can initially accommodate deliveries at a baseload rate
of up to 400 mmcf/d with peak rates of up to 600 mmcf/d. With on-site
nitrogen blending facilities, TGP can accommodate virtually
any quality of LNG delivered and still meet stringent NTS standards.
As an example of the flexibility that Excelerate Energy’s GasPort
technology offers, TGP was brought into service within 12
months of site selection and at a cost that is roughly 10% of a conventional
land-based LNG terminal with the same capabilities.
