To enhance the capabilities of the existing EBRVs™ and the cargo deliveries into Excelerate Energy’s GasNet® the concept of LNG transshipment has been developed, tested and implemented. Ship – To – Ship Transfer (STS) of LNG occurs upstream of the Energy Bridge™ Port either in the open ocean or in a protected body of water at a location between the LNG load port and the Energy Bridge Port. This allows Excelerate Energy to use the EBRVs as distinct terminals and the conventional LNG carriers for the long haul transportation. The EBRVs are used in shuttle service between the STS transfer location and the Energy Bridge Port and the conventional LNGCs will deliver the cargos from the supply source to the STS location.

The development and testing of the STS equipment and procedures is focused on ensuring the highest degree of safety and reliability to maintain a consistent delivery profile at the Energy Bridge Port. To ensure the highest degree of safety and reliability the following standards will be followed:
