Rob Bryngelson

Rob Bryngelson is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Excelerate Energy. He formerly served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility and oversight for the day-to-day operations of the business. As one of the founders of Excelerate Energy, Rob initially held the position of Vice President of Development and Downstream Services, managing the development, permitting, and construction of our LNG importation projects and related downstream activities.

Prior to Excelerate, Rob worked as Managing Director in El Paso Corporation’s Global LNG group, where he was responsible for LNG infrastructure development, supply procurement, and downstream marketing for North America. This included oversight of the development of several land-based LNG terminals in Altamira, Mexico; Grand Bahama Island; and Baja, California. In addition, Rob led the team that developed the Gulf of Mexico deepwater LNG port project. He also negotiated agreements to secure commercial control of the project following his departure from El Paso and the subsequent formation of Excelerate Energy.

Previous industry experience consisted of leading complex projects involving power and gas origination, power plant development, gas marketing and joint venture creation and management.

Rob earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1995 and 1993, respectively, from The University of Texas at Austin. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University, earned in 1991.
